Hypnosis, in essence, is guided self-hypnosis. It assists in overcoming fears, phobias, addictions, trauma and imbalances. When the conscious mind and the body relax, and critical faculty is by-passed, the sub-conscious mind is then able to release often deeply imbedded past “trauma”/memory and absorb suggestions which enable the conscious mind, through the sub-conscious, to implement. At all times, the person, although deeply relaxed, is fully aware of the surroundings and always “in control”, thereby contributing to his or her own healing process. “Whatever the mind perceives, the body believes” – whatever the mind creates, the mind can cure.
